How Great Leaders Inspire Action – Simon Sinek

By | January 21, 2014

This evening I watched the below video by Simon Sinek about how great leaders inspire action. I have heard some of this information before but the way Simon explained it just hit home with me. My two biggest take aways:

“People don’t buy what you do they buy why you do it” – I had to rewind the video to listen to this again (although he states it many times after the first time!). He discusses his idea of the golden circle and breaks down the three areas of Why, How and What and the differences. My takeaway here is you should be leading with ideas, lead with the why behind your actions and your beliefs.

“Leaders hold position of power and authority; those who lead inspire us” – I’ve heard this before but he explains it well.

I’m currently a leader, I want to be a person who leads. Here’s to continuing that journey! Please watch the video it is excellent! Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Thanks,
