Fit and Fun with Westerville Taekwondo

By | June 20, 2014

Near the beginning of this year my kids started taking Westerville Taekwondo classes led by Chief Master Mitch Ellis at Dragon E’s Black Belt Academy. Both my boys (ages 8 and 6) were really enjoying class and were disappointed when we were unable to attend. Both boys started as a white belt and have moved on to their orange belt.

I was getting jealous about what the kids were learning and how much fun they were having, so I joined in as well!!

Why Dragon E’s for Westerville Taekwondo

Chief Master Mitch Ellis and his staff of certified instructors is top notch. The best way I can explain it is once you start, you join the Dragon E’s family. All of the instructors take the time to teach you the proper forms and techniques, but also learn to be respectful and considerate. There’s always some fun sprinkled in as well!

In addition to Taekwondo, Dragon E’s adds in different martial art styles here and there to keep each class a bit different. There’s always something new to learn which makes it easy to look forward to the next class.

One of the main reasons I signed up with Dragon E’s was to improve my health and lose some weight. I was pleasantly surprised that not only was I learning taekwondo skills, Master Ellis also incorporates health and wellness into his program.

Almost every class has my legs or arms burning during exercise! We’re currently working on a 30 day challenge, I’ve selected daily push-ups and have been steadily increasing the number I can do!

I do have to say, I was a bit hesitant and nervous being 41 and starting out as a newbie with those wonderful white pants. The other students in the class took me in and made me feel at home from the first class, helping me learn the ropes. I quickly became part of the family and haven’t looked back since! No matter what your age or ability, you can get started.

Cost:

The cost for classes is a great value in my opinion. Dragon E’s has a 8 week $88 special (as of this writing) which is what all 3 of us did and includes your belt and uniform. For each additional family member there is a reduced price as well. After the 8 weeks the price does go up some, but compare the cost with other programs around the Westerville area and you will come to the same conclusion that the price is well worth it.

If you’re looking for a great workout, a good family atmosphere and an extremely good value, visit Dragon E’s Black Belt Academy for the best Westerville Taekwondo you can find. You can always take your first class free to see what you think.

I hope to see you there. If you do, be sure to say Hi to me 🙂
